They don’t get my sense of humor…

I send out an INSANE amount of emails to the parents and kids at school updating them on the fundraiser happenings.  Yesterday, I had to update the STUCCO reps on their party and I forgot I was not writing my blog.  Most of these kids just think of me as Mrs. Phillips, a mom that works at school, someone that is constantly reminding them to do stuff….they don’t know…April.

I sent out this message and I was laughing hysterically at myself, just having a grand time thinking they would enjoy my wit and sarcasm as much as I do.  Guess what happened?  NONE OF THEM RESPONDED.

Trying not to question myself too much, I forwarded the message to my friend Melanie who totally gets my sense of humor.  I thought our conversation to be blog worthy.  Enjoy my insanity, I know I do.

Dear Mel,

So, I sent the following message to all the Stucco reps…..and I haven’t heard back from any of them. They so don’t appreciate my humor!

Howdy..here’s the plan for Rock-A-Doodle 2

5-7pm-  Square thy Dance. That’s the King Jame’s version for Square Dancing….sorry, can’t help myself. You’ll think that’s funny when you’re 40, I promise.

30 minute break– During this break we’ll do prizes that require fun challenges. Some will be individual, some will be by groups. Some will require brains, some will require strength, some will require courage, some will require the ability to do strange things in front of large crowds. I will be calling on the Stucco Reps to help assist in some of them. There will be one in which you will get to wave around a sharp object. I know!! How can you refuse to help with this?

7:30ish-9pm-
Our dear friend Mr. JC  will take the stage with his band and finish out the night. I’ve requested for JC to do both Christian and secular songs so you all can dance to your heart’s content and not offend the HIGHER powers (cue thunder and lightning)….please, laugh with me or at me, this is genius stuff here kids. You have no idea the amount of sarcasm I’m holding back.  Be thankful this message is almost done.

The seniors and senioreetas will be hosting the concessions.

Any questions? Any concerns? Any comments? Anything?

Oh, one more little note: Once you enter the building….you are there to stay, muhahahahahah, muahahahahah! In other words, if you leave you don’t get to come back….EVER!! This is the CS way, it’s a rule to keep you all safe and it’s a good rule, so let’s embrace it like a stuffed animal and be thankful the older folks care enough about you to be concerned for you safety and keeping you alive at this event. Yes, I’m one of the older folks. I like you all…safe and alive and not smoking pot.

Okay, we’re done here. I’ll go back to my little spot in Crazy Town. You have no idea how much I am cracking myself up!

Love and Hugs,

Mrs Phillips

Melanie

“not smoking pot”!!!! Oh my goodness. My belly hurts from laughing!

April

Oh thank GOD you laughed! It was a bit touch and go there for a moment, I thought I had lost my touch!!!
Melanie
Have you gotten any response yet?
April
NO! I’m pretty sure they either ignored it, didn’t read it or just don’t know how to respond.
Melanie
They are all freaking out that you know about the pot.
April
“SHE KNOWS!!! HIDE THE STASH!! SHE KNOWS!!!”
Now you know why I love Melanie so much…..and you can feel sorry for the poor teenagers at my school that have to deal with me.

Bring your friends, talk up this event so we have a great turn out. This is your opportunity to invite whomever you please 7-12 grades, alumni and youth pastors (they get in free…cuz they is special and we love ’em). Friends (any non-VCS student) pay $5 at the door. If you don’t purchase a t-shirt you will also pay $5 at the door. If you pay for your t-shirt…admission is FREEEEEE!
