The crack house isn’t such a crack house anymore. The black color is chalkboard paint so Ellen can write on her walls. What teenager doesn’t want to write goofy things their friends say or great quotes from books or draw a picture…ON THEIR WALL?!! I know! I want chalkboard walls in every room! And my boys are trying really hard to claim a space in her room now. So guess who has to paint little chalkboard walls in the boys’ rooms? Yeah…me.
The back wall was the only wall we didn’t have to repair. We are looking at painting it green. We actually have the bead board painted, but in these photos you’re looking at the primer.
Still left to do:
1. paint the wall
2. put up crown molding
3. install quarter round on the base board
4. touch up the floor where we scratched the crap out of it doing all the work in there…because putting down a drop cloth is too much trouble
5. make curtains
6. find a small overstuffed chair for $10 that I can recover……I know, I can dream though.
7. look at my bedroom and say to Clay, “Honey, I think I’d like to rip out this carpet and paint the wood floors……”
In case you haven’t been following The Crack House renovation…here’s a picture of what it used to look like.
