When you’re done laughing….
Clay got a lot of mileage out of that suit before it was stolen out of his car the day before our wedding. What? You’re not looking at the suit? Is that because you can’t take your eyes off the mound of frizz atop Clay’s head?
This was taken at Carmen’s wedding. She was my best friend in high school. That same weekend we announced, well, I announced to my parents that Clay and I were engaged. My dad’s response was, “Well, I expected that would happen.” and my mom said, “You’re not gonna have a pot to pee in.” Deep down I think they were really happy and just hoping that Clay would get a hair cut.

In response to seeing Clay my thirteen year old daughter said – Oh my God Napolean Dynamite!
Y’all are so cute. Don’t you just love the “pot to pee in” phrase?
Who did the cool caricatures of your family?
YOU look lovely… Umm Clay…nice hair!
Didn’t we all think we looked AMAZING back in the 90s???
LOVE the hair. That’s awesome.
I actually was looking at the “16 candles” outfit you have on. It’s lovely. Oh those were the days…..
Aahhh…..but she was wrong!!
Such a cute couple!
A haircut, yes, please!!!! But I can NOT imagine anyone would steal that suit out of a car the day before the wedding. Anyone? ANYONE? JUST CAN’T SEE IT!!
Bwahahahaha! No, my eyes immediately went straight to the suit. Love it. Wonder if the thief is still wearing it?
Well, I’m glad you could see past the hair. Never been a fan of the man perm. I’m assuming it was a perm anyway since Clay’s hair is straight now.
Having lived through some years of not having a pot to pee in ourselves, I don’t imagine either one of us would say that to our kids, but if one of us did, it would definitely be Danny. I’m more the, “Well, I expected that would happen” kind.
Nope Jenni….that was all natural curl! It’s started to calm down when he hit his thirties and it also……started to thin.
Funny! Your hair looks adorable in the photo!
Did your mom actually say that? Hilarious!
Lovely! Don’t ya just love the 90′s looks? HEck, the 80′s are even better! lol
Glad you two proved your Mama wrong.
Love the looks both of you are rocking!
Isabelle is convinced Clay is wearing a wig.
Kramer! I like your hair that length. I mean you April, not Kramer.

I agree with Highlandviewpantry that Clay looked like Napolean Dynamite! Too cute/funny.
How about Nicholas Cage in “Peggy Sue Got Married”
Well, having a “pot to pee in” isn’t everything, huh? I think you guys are great! Love this peek at the past.
You still look just the same! (Gorgeous!)
Please tell me your dress is blowing in the wind and not flared like that. I can’t talk, I wore some totally heinous crap in the early 90′s. And I totally love the zoot suit.
Stolen? Ya right! You swiped it right? Paid someone to take it?
Oh my!
My husband had hair like Clays but my dear hubby took it a step further and sprayed Sun-In on his glorious brown hair. It turned a lovely shade of ORANGE!!!
April you rock for posting the old photos! You were and still are one hot Mama! I love all the reponses about Clay looking like actors. I too thought he bore a strinking resemblance to someone…

I’m thinking um…Fresh Prince meets Frasier?
No no…not Frasier? What was Seinfeld’s neighbor’s name? Kramer! That was it…Kramer. Now that makes more sense…Fresh Prince meets Kramer…not as funny when you have to stinkin’ explain it now is it?!
lawsy mercy…the early 90′s were SO closely related to the 80′s weren’t they. I can NOT look away from that suit.
I would like to see his shoes.
Clay is looking a lot like Napolean Dynamite is this picture. Thank goodness we all change.
OH my… Why am I suddenly reminded of Molly Ringwald and Jon Cryer/Pretty in Pink?! lol
I want to watch Seinfeld for some reason.
Bwaaaaahaaaaahaaa, love it. Hey, my dad told my hubby when he asked to marry me that they had been waiting fro someone to take me off their hands. Lovely.
