Have you all met our dog, Preacher? He’s one of the sweetest dogs I’ve ever known and he’s filthy…all the time. And so is my house and so is my van and so are my two youngest boys. Meh, is my reaction to the mess these days. I used to have one junk drawer in my kitchen and now they’re all junk drawers.
I have failed in so many different ways in the past few months I don’t even know where to begin…oh wait, yes I do, first was the strange realization that I was bestowed with the title Head Coach of the track team. Honestly, I still don’t understand how that happened but I think I have a few dads to thank for that one. If I didn’t enjoy the kids so much I’d seriously be plotting their demise….the dads’ demise, not the kids.
In other April Failed News, I’m so glad my sweet 14 year old boy didn’t mention that I never put candles on a cake for him nor did we ever sing him happy birthday. Luckily, he was too busy playing with his new cell phone and texting me. Lord, God in Heaven…I’ve succumbed to texting! I’m texting on an old phone so you can only imagine how long it takes me to say, “Hi”….like after pushing fifty little buttons I could have just called the person! Convenient no. Nothing in my life is convenient at the moment, so thirty minutes wasted on a text to my son that says, “Ill b home in 1 hr, but after Im done typing this it will actually be more like 30min.” seems fitting. I wish I had an automated response to people that said, “Please expect a serious lag in response from April, she is a very slow texter.” or “Be happy she will eventually resond…maybe.” Ah well, at least I’m trying, right?
And to wrap it up today…
If you’ve made it this far with me, I’ve got a little surprise to share with you…so you need to come back and find out what it is. Okay? Promise? Yes? See you soon!
PS. Hang in there, life is actually pretty amazing!
