This is a photo of Clay, Me, Clay’s brother and Clay’s sister. This was the first night we were together at Clay’s mother’s apartment, the first time I had met any of them. We were obviously having a great time. I remember laughing a lot that weekend.
Okay, now let’s talk about the obvious…
1. Bangs. Everyone had bangs!!! Clay with his dripping into his left eye and mine tightly curled above my eyebrows.
2. Acid Wash. Dear Jesus, why did we all love it so?
3. I can only describe my hair as….transparent. No, I did not bleach it, that is what color it was. Freaky, I know.

Acid wash jeans are burned from my memory, as far as I’m concerned I never wore them. Never.
I skimmed through my daughter’s 17 magazine the other day. New hot denim style is BLEACHED DENIM! Dear God….no!!!
Ellen looks just like you! I’ve always thought she did;but in this picture… totally!
You are even prettier now. It’s great to have a man who you can laugh with through life. My husband and I sometimes laugh at the most inapproriate times, and no one gets the joke but us.
This picture is really great ! Who took it ??
you look just like your daughter!
I’m just impressed you didn’t have legwarmers and lace gloves, or 142 black plastic bracelets. You would totally have rocked the Madonna look with that hair.
Wonderful picture!!
Everybody Loves Raymond!
My mom was going through some closets when they moved recently and found some clothes of my youngest brother (now 21) and found some perfect conditioned acid-washed Wranglers. My 7 yr. old currently sports them. LOL! And they’re his favorite pants! Dave Ramsey, I need a medal.
April, I commend you for not wearing the lace fingerless gloves with 8.23 inch tall bangs. At least in that picture.
Love this photo! You guess were meant to be. Thank goodness the preppy whale motif on the turtleneck has gone by the way of the acid wash jeans!
Susan
You guys were meant to be. Guys! Can’t believe I typed Guess… maybe it was a Freudian Slip thinking of Acid Wash!
April, don’t forgot the mullet on your brother-in-law.
Is Clay’s brother picking lint out of his belly button?
Love it. I used to have a hot acid-washed denim jacket I wore EVERY DAY. It was like my signature jacket. Me and every other 13 year old girl in my school. =)

Now those are some beautiful college kids. No wonder you were attracted to each other. And you grew up to be beautiful adults. Perfect. Carry on.
I love how Clay’s shirt is buttoned clear to the top. Classy!
