Oh my goodness. The past week has been so full of….stuff. We had our good friends from Missouri come visit us for several days and the first night they were here we went out to a seafood restaurant. I don’t know what it was, but something did not agree with me and when we got home my girlfriend was describing her meal to my daughter, “Oh, gosh I had these really great scallops…” and that’s when I decided my dinner was going to be revisited and deposited into the toilette.
I spent the evening barfing up my entire meal. It was not pretty. One of my friends keeps quoting, “I’m just one stomach flu away from a size four.” because afterward my stomach was really flat and I was loving it!
After that we spent the rest of the weekend going to ballgames, discussing love and life and shopping. It was so wonderful. The guys must have spent an entire day playing the board game Axis and Allies. We went out for drinks and talked about being parents and having great kids and how we will still make huge mistakes no matter how hard we try and how those kids are still going to turn out okay.
I was wanting to post photos from the weekend, but of course I don’t have many and my friends’ computer crapped out so she can’t send them to me yet … so, I’ve been stuck on what to write about this week without sharing the photos with you. Because you know, when I have something in my head, that’s usually what I want to pound out on the keyboard and all I had in my head was the events of the past week.
Yes, I occasionally get blogger’s block. And it’s not pretty. But, it’s much better looking than the lobster tail and green salad that I was puking.
Stick with me folks, I shall return with something amazing…or not. Either way, line up your shellfish and give them a nice pat on the tail for me.

I’m glad you’re feeling better. I’ve missed you.
Yuck! I hate barfing, but I gotta admit the concave stomach after is always a treat! Too bad mine never lasts! Glad you had fun with your friends!
We’ve missed you. Glad you’re feeling yourself again. Hopefully, you haven’t developed a shellfish allergy, since scallops are often notorious for this.
Oh, April, I am so sorry you were so sick…..and with the clean bathrooms, too!! It’s good you had good friends as guests…..it made being sick a little easier to handle. Sounds like you had a wonderful time. Can’t wait to see the pictures and hear more about it. Take care of yourself.
Missed you too. Life does get busy. Write when you can cause I will keep following.
I love the title! anything with -tastic on the end grabs my attention! Literally. I don’t get out much.
jancd – getting sick when the bathrooms are clean is the BEST time to get sick! Wouldn’t you agree? It’s my preference.
Blogger’s block. Must be an epidemic. I’ve got it too.
Or maybe it’s just February!
Glad you’re feeling better. It’s no fun being sick and it must be awful when you have friends in town. I know when I’m sick I like to walk around the house moaning about how sick I am…to anyone who will listen (no one. My ploys are all so old-hat and well known.)
Ooooh – feeling both sad for you & jealous (I wanna be one stomach flu away from a size 8!)
Of course, if you’re looking for blog material, feel free to head over to mine: today I’m discussing such mind-blowing topics as Justin Bieber & farting in your sleep
oh, april, that thing is going around…it’s been in this house three times this week but at least it’s short lived (and your bathroom was clean)
we can live without pictures, just keep talkin’
The small picture of Clay in my feed reader looked like he was trying not to barf. So glad that’s not what’s happening.
Just type what’s in your head and label the post random. Works every time.
Oh, I have had that pay for dinner twice stuff before. Not pretty.
On the game-my boys and their friends would play that game for weeks. It was set up in the basement and heaven forbid if anyone touched that game!
Oh no I remember getting sick on fried mushrooms once, I still can’t eat them to this day, yuck. Besides the puking glad you had a great time with your friends.
I’m not going to comment on the shellfish. But my son (14) LOVES Axis and Allies and today has 2 friends coming over to play with him. What is it with that game? Most boring game on earth!!
Also Elliot is madly jealous. He took one look at that pic and went off about the incredible graphics and how they added Italy (???). Sigh…
So glad you survived to blog another day. Sounds like great fun, except for the barfing of course.
Just do a little jig and throw it on here – we love those!
I’m glad you’re feeling better!
It could be that body has changed and you are no longer able to eat seafood. I was in my 20s when it happened to me. I thought I kept getting a tummy flu, but turns out I only got the tummy flu when I ate seafood.
Glad your back!
Oh my check out my grammar! Glad you’re back!
Sorry about the vomiting but glad you could enjoy a flat stomach! Hey, way to see good results from something not so good. I love the optimism!
Sorry you got sick! Glad you had a great visit with your friends.
I got sick on crab cakes a few years ago and still cannot eat them!
You know, Clay could step up and answer a few more questions. That would take care of a blog post or 2 or 3 or 10. Nice to hear from you again!
That happened to me a few times too….all that money down the toilet and no, it doesn’t taste as good the second time around. Glad to learn your bathroom was clean when it happened…makes for a much more pleasant puking experience. Take care and don’t eat any seafood for a while or you’ll be seeing food..get it…hahahahaha.
I just found your blog (through some very random channels) and have been reading for awhile. I love your site and your style of writing!
Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you for not sharing pictures of your dinner. Before or after…. lol.
