We have an egg bucket and a chicken scrap bucket in our kitchen. Sometimes we get them confused, especially when we are too busy. Last week we were just a tad too busy to look at which bucket we were dumping the coffee grounds into and the eggs sat there for quite a while. Needless to say, the egg bucket became the chicken bucket and the eggs stopped getting gathered all together. It’s life on Coal Creek Farm.
Now, who’s going shopping today? I’m out the door with my mom and Ellen…it could be a long day. Don’t worry, I’m taking my gosh darn Damn Ramsey envelopes with me! Gah!

Yuck! Oh, well, these things happen. Happy hunting – I mean shopping!
Maybe put the eggs in the fridge when they come in the house.
Good luck fighting the crowds today. I know today is “Buy Nothing Day”, but my primary motivation for not buying anything is the crowds. I’m doing laundry instead.
I hope Damn Ramsey works for you today.
You need a cute little basket for your eggs. I found a wire basket at a garage sale and it sits on my counter as an egg receptacle. That way all my guests can be properly appalled that I don’t refrigerate my eggs.
Wild turkeys could not drag me out shopping today.
Better you, Ellen and your mom out there today, girl. I’m sittin’ my buttox at home.
Whoot! I got great deals at Target and now I’m so very much done! Hope you get great deals, too.
I was crazy for going today at 5 am. Especially after I didn’t get off of work until 1:30. Let’s just say I’m a wee bit tired today. But Christmas shopping done!
I agree you need a pretty bucket for eggs! You how hard those ladies work!!! Ha
At our house, the chicken slop bucket goes to the right of the sink and the basket of eggs goes to the left of the sink.
Have you ever put the slop bucket in your car intending to stop at the barn on your way out only to arrive at your destination 70 miles away and realize the slop bucket is still on the passenger seat? No? Me either. Nope.
I worked Wednesday and Thursday nights, so I’m cooking this afternoon and tomorrow morning. Thanksgiving is Saturday this year! No shopping, it’s cheaper!
Lol–sounds like my life…we have been quite lax lately about cleaning nest boxes and collecting eggs everyday…ah well.
Ooops! Those things can happen when you are busy. I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!
That’s kinda what happens with my laundry sometimes… there will be a clean clothes basket that’s yet to be folded and dirty stuff gets mixed in. We’re heading home from the in-laws right now (typing and riding) and I’m hoping some little laundry elves have taken care of it all.
I went shopping today but not for Christmas gifts. Our neighbor just became Grandparents for the first time on Thanksgiving Day! After years of buying boy clothes it was a joy to buy cute little girl things. It made my day.
i woul prever wire basket over plastic baskets coz they are more sturdy,.”
wire baskets are great and they are also environment friendly compared to plastic bins***
well, wire baskets can outlast those platic baskets ‘.:
Nicely I arrived here on another submit but ended up staying for 20 minutes reading your stuff! Enjoyed it
