Quotes from the Ree Love Fest

Mrs. Mama is not a late night person, she starts shutting down after 9pm.  And when the elegant woman starts getting sleepy, she starts saying things that cause me to grab a pad of paper and a pen.

Oh, and just so you know, I almost killed her five seconds after leaving my house to drive to the book signing and it had nothing to do with what she said, it had everything to do with ALMOST driving my van off a cliff.  The scream that came out of her did not even phase me.  I told her she needed to work on the ‘blood curdling’ to be more affective.  That’s how calm her voice is.  And she was terrified.  I was like, What?  Something wrong?  OH MY LORD IN HEAVEN!!!!! Screeeeeech, went my tires.  But, that’s another story.

So, here are a few quotes from my elegant friend Mrs Mama:

“April, if you weren’t the way you are, you wouldn’t be here.” That was said right after I made some sort of grunting noise.

“There are lovers and fighters and you are a dancer.” I want this put on a plaque and hung in my living room.

“I can’t pour it out, it might leave a stain.” In the parking garage trying to decide if she should dump her coffee on the concrete.

“Let’s get in the Marlboro Man line and then get out of here.” After trying to decide if she had it in her to wait until our numbers were called to meet Ree.  I made her stay.

It’s not hard to see why she’s my friend.
