The Living Without Series

This is a series of posts that I wrote back in 2006 on living with less stuff. Check them out: liv011Living #2liv031liv04

It’s this routine or a puppet.

When I see Ree tomorrow I’m going to say, “BUT, MY LIPS HURT REAL BAD!”  and then we will spend the next thirty minutes quoting Napoleon Dynamite or I will bring one of my mom’s puppets and hide behind the desk with her and help sign autographs or I will perform this scene from Napoleon Dynamite and dedicate it to all her fans…while standing on a big stack of her cookbooks.

Or I’ll just wait in line like a normal person.

  • I can’t wait until she comes to Texas! Yeeeeee HAW! And a six foot blonde is always beautiful– no matter what… especially from the eyes of a five foot three brunette–that would be me.

  • I can’t wait for tonight. We’ll be with the normal people.

ROFL. . .whatever you do it will be funny!

  • Oh April! That would have been so wonderful if you had been in Pawhuska to provide entertainment while waiting in that long line! I’m sure folks in other venues would appreciate it also. Maybe you can volunteer to go on the road with Ree to help boost morale for longsuffering fans. If post it notes could cheer those WalMart patrons, just imagine what you could do. I bet you’d be a real hit.

That ND scene brings back painful memories of severe dorkiness. Yes, was an avid signer/interpretive hand dancer for a while. I wonder if I still remember how to sign “Sunshine On My Shoulders”.

I’m almost ashamed to admit that I’ve never seen the movie. Something tells me it could be all about my life! Have fun tonight.

  • My most favorite movie of all time!!!

I’ve read a bunch of different accounts today of the signing in KS. Did you have to wait in line for 4 hrs like everyone else? I’m starting to think that should I attend one of these events I should show up two hours late. I didn’t see your puppet hand in any of the pictures, but that’s probably because it’s copyrighted and they didn’t want to pay royalties, right?

  • See you in line with all the Normal people!!!
This should be fun…others from Lawrence heading there also!!

  • Still jealous.

FYI- ran into a drugstore last week with my lips hurtin’ reeeaal bad…almost felt like I kissed an iron… Anyway, I was so desperate (and they didn’t have my favorite Aveeno lip balm) that I grabbed 3 (yep 3) different kinds of chap stick/lip balm (they really hurt real bad)…found a new fave, or at least a close 2nd, Nivea lip balm. Get it. Stop the lip hurtin’ man. Pick you up some today. Take Ree some too – tell her “hey!” for me and pinch her hiney just ’cause.

(Nivea or anyone associated with Nivea or any lip balm manufacturer or any manufacturer of anything in the whole wide world did not pay me to say this. My lips just feel real good now.)

  • I do believe that that scene is my husband’s favorite from the movie. I also believe that it has been too long since I last viewed ND and I need to rememdy this immediately.
