Broody Hens........I love them. But my husband doesn't. We always take the eggs out from under them. Then he will take her off the nest and throw her out the door! No, it doesn't hurt her and she flaps her wings and lands on her feet and starts cackling like mad to show her indignation!

If they try to peck you when you take the eggs out, put a small bucket over their head while you get the eggs. If I'm wearing long sleeves, I don't worry about it. If your arms are not covered they will bring blood. I have a few scars thanks to the little "hen peckers"!

We had a broody hen as of today! She had been in the coop and not wanting to leave her nest for weeks...I thought it would never end! We just keep bringing her outside everyday...and it looked like it worked!
