I've got two broody hens now that have been sitting on golf balls for a week. Thinking about getting them some fertilized eggs to sit on. Hope it's not too late in the summer for them to finish up. Also concerned they won't be able to protect the chicks from the other hens when they hatch. Do I need to Segregate the Momma Hens and chicks after they hatch so the other birds don't pick them to pieces?
