Oddly, I find this very amusing. Probably because it is a common request by my own kids. It’s hilarious. The music is perfect. Thanks for a smile and laugh!
6weeks ago I would have done the same. Today I still have the scabs and the scaring from the 3″ hole and broken shin bone from the piece of steel the lawnmower picked up and tossed at me across the barnyard. Btwn dh (riding on the mower) and I was nearly 50ft and a sprayer.
Now, I won’t even mow the grass if the children are outside. It took 3 weeks before I could walk without aid (crutches/cane)…. anywhere else but the middle of my right shin… got lucky it hit nothing important.. and it could have been MUCH worse.
Sorry, they ‘re already living around my tomato plants. What a big job to rake that mess up. We were gone for several days and I think it rained the whole time we were gone.
I’m hoping for that rain here. my grass is turning brown. I loved riding the mower but my husband retired and I haven’t gotten to ride the mower since. He’s hoping for continued dry weather though. I love those boys. There’s a particular musty, sweaty sweet smell to little boys.
I loved this video and have fond memories of doing the same thing with my dad as a kid. I would happily do it with my youngin’s but my friend the ER nurse stopped my dead in my tracks by telling me about her 12th amputee victum this year! All were children who had fallen off of laps, etc…. while riding the mower with someone and then proceeded to get run over with it. None of the feet/ limbs were able to be reattatched because of the blade damage. That was just as of May 1st this year!!!
It scared me bad, so I will only let my kids ride when the blades aren’t running! anyhoo… still a funny video! I love the other two in the lawn chairs! HILARIOUS!
I liked the video, however, I’m one of those all so, all I could think of was the accidents that we’ve had here in MI with parents riding their kids with them. I have a riding tractor also, but I now wear eye protection because of a previous time getting something in my eye and ending up in ER. Just a word of warning.
Ok, now you’ve gone and forced me to go rent “Napoleon Dynamite” just so I can see what everyone’s talkin’ about. Still, I thought this was hillarious because:
1. Your grass is as long as ours always was till we hired a full time landscaper
2. Your kids love riding the lawn mower as much as mine did
3. Your readers are worried about ride-on lawn mower injuries like any regular city slicker with a 5″ square yard should be
4. Your readers didn’t mention the evil menace called a trampoline that was directly behind you in that chip eating clip. As all trampoline owning family knows, they are one of the main causes of emergency visits/broken bones in young children? But any self-respecting mother lets her kids take risks or how will they ever learn to pick themselves back up after a nasty fall?

OMGoodness! So funny. You guys are a crack up. Love the Napolean Dynammite effect!
Oh April.
This is so funny!
I LOVE this funny video ! I love the way you say things. Thank you for your blog.
Too funny! Now you need to get in the kitchen and make yourself some gosh darn tort-ill-as.
Mowing the hay field I see.
Seriously, can I have those grass clippings to mulch my garden with? They’re perfect to keep my weeds down!

Killjoy alert. Please, no riders when the blades are turning. He’s too precious to risk injuring!

Love the two guys sitting on the chair watching the foolishness:)
That scene in Napolean about killed me—roller blades behind a bicycle! Genius.
I guess that means you’re a genius, too! Cool.
Love your take on the scene.
OMGOSH! SOOOOO FUNNY!!! VERY NAPOLEON!
Now THAT was funny! Thanks for sharing!!
Stop!! I’ll talk!!!
But then, I said “stop, I’ll talk” about every 3 minutes when my kids forced me to watch Napoleon.

Thanks for the chuckle!
Love Napolean! It’s so strange to know that people who don’t live in Idaho or Utah know what Napolean Dynamite is. The video is great!
You made me choke on my tots as I was watching that! Hilarious!
