Here’s the album cover that Air Supply used for their 1988 Greatest Hits. Not really.
Does that cow make my butt look big?
I married a goof ball. Thank God.
These photos were taken by my sweet friend Mrs Mama from All Astonishment. I know, she takes great photos. What I want to tell you is this, I would never think of scheduling a photo shoot with my husband…ever, cause that’s embarrassing. But, when you have a good friend that loves photography come over for a “family photo shoot” and she starts shooting photos and directing you to lean on the truck or she’s just making small talk with you the entire time she’s clicking you end up with images like the photos above. Mrs Mama captures us being real and relaxed and I love it. I also want to tell all of you couples out there to get a bunch of photos of yourselves together, because life is short and it’s sweet to go back and look at an embrace from by gone days. I know my grandchildren will enjoy seeing these photos some day and hopefully they will make fun of us. Now get tah clickin’!

You both look great and I love that the truck is slowly sinking into the earth. Maybe you should throw some dirt in the back and plant your potatoes???
Priceless photos Apri. Priceless! Your children and your grandchildren will love them!
Love the old car and the cow in the background. Just perfect!
Wonderful photos! I have many of the family..with out me. Unfortunatly the camera adds an additional 50lbs & 20yrs!
It doesn’t matter Katie! Get in the photo your grandkids are going to ask where are all the photos of grandma??? Now get in that photo girl!!!
Beautiful pictures!! Mrs Mama is a wonderful photographer. She does have a knack for capturing real photos. Love her work. You are right we all should make a point of having these kind of photos to pass down. I’ll be married 30 year this month and I have so few pictures of my husband and I. All my fault, I hate having my picture taken. Working really hard to get over that….. It helps having a digital camera. I can delete the ones I really don’t like and of course there is always Photo Shop to help on the other ones.
Great pics!! I tend to be on the other side of the camera though.
So sweet
Perfect.
Beautiful photos…Mrs Mama’s work is the best
April, you guys are so fun to photograph! Thank you for letting me practice on you.
I am so guilty of this – I feel like an awkward deer caught in headlights whenever I have my picture taken. Keep pestering me, though, to get out from behind the camera. It really is important.
What great pics!
Wow! Those are fabulous photos – what a great thing to have. They’re gorgeous! I wouldn’t think to do it either, but what a treasure
oh how fun, I have wanted to do that too.My hubby is a goof ball as well. Greats pics.Love your blog you crack me up and the cow does not make your butt look big.
AWW… you two are so cute!
Exceptional photos. Exceptionally happy subjects. Good job.
I had a photo shoot of my own a few days ago. Had to get head shots for the back cover of my book. We haven’t selected one yet. My daughter took them. She’s real good, too.
Really wonderful. Thanks for the inspiration.
In relation to the cow, your butt actually looks quite smallish. You go girl!
Sweet pictures!!
Awww! You two are so darn cute!
I love these! Absolutely beautiful. You are lucky to have found a goof-ball. I think more men should be that way.
And you have a great figure.

Endless Love, indeed!!
Beautiful… love and humor are such a good combination.
And good idea about capturing the moments.
Wonderful photos! You inspired me…I posted our recent photos on my blog. Have a wonderful day!!!
These are fantastic photos, April!
I would never have set out to have photos taken of us either, but about 5 or 6 years ago we had family begging for family photos. We asked Danny’s sister to take some, and she ended up taking a few of just Danny and me. (She’s very bossy, so she was able to make me do it.) The two that I put in my anniversary post last month are from that set and they’re probably my favorite two photos that have me in them. Now I think I’d like to have some updated photos of just the two of us.
My favorite photo here is the middle one. The bottom photo really shows your personalities and sense of humor, though, and there is something I really love about the legs and feet. While the facial expressions are silly and fun, the position of the legs and feet tell a different side of the story. It’s really very sweet.
Love them! The cow definitely does NOT make your butt look big
I think you are on to something. A cow will make my butt look smaller. Oh honey, we need a cow!
Two hearts…two hearts that beat as one…
Reminds me of every jr high slow dance we ever had! Those pix are absolutely beautiful, April. You guys will treasure them.
How tahweeet!
I love those photos. Very natural looking. Your grandkids and great-grandkids will be SO glad to have them someday. I know I need to get in photos more but really want to lose some weight first!
Aaaaw! Those are just GREAT shots. I just love the truck too. Where can I get one those? It’d look great in our retail garden center
I’m a goofball and my hubbie isn’t. You ARE lucky!
Oh my goodness! I love those photos! How amazing y’all are still so much in love … it’s refreshing to see that today. Have a fabulous weekend y’all!
Love those. My husband and I have one that a photographer took when we did not know it, so relaxed and just us. It is nice to see it when we run across it.
I hate also to be in the photos. But know that it is important, I look at some of my childhood photos and think, wow my Mom and Dad look so young in them. They are my favorite ones, I wish there were more of her, but she was normally taking them also.
This is why I hand the camera to our 10 yr old occasionally and ask him to take pictures of us. Not always really good photos, but they are ‘real’.
In the top picture you both look very similar to Wesley and Buttercup from the Princess Bride, before he goes to sea and becomes the Dread Pirate Roberts.
I need more pics of my husband and me, but my kids would puke if I put them through the whole process. They already puke when “happen upon” us hugging. Oh, well. I guess I need to find a photographer with some intestinal fortitude.
It’s so refreshing to see so much love between two people! I wish I had a close friend who would come take random photos of my husband and me.
Oh, boy…these are the sweetest photos….what a beautiful couple. Seriously.
Love the pictures! I’m always the one taking pictures when our family gets together. I’ve learned to hand the camera to someone and ask for a picture with my husband.
I think what you meant is “does that butt make my cow look big?”
Anyway, I don’t mind getting pictures taken, but how do you prevent them from being ruined by the other party in the photo?
By the way, maybe Rechelle can borrow Clay’s Chucks for her trip to Paris.
How fun to have these photos…for you guys AND for your grandkids to make fun of! Isn’t it nice to have a hubby who makes you laugh? Goof balls rule!
Beautiful shots!
Love the photos! And a previous poster had a great idea about flowers in the old truck. I visited the Dallas Arboretum and they had an old VW bus and a VW bug covered in flowers. Literally, totally covered…this old truck would look great like that!
totally agree… nice shots!
These are great! I would have our photo done together, but without the cow my butt would look waaaay too big.
Aren’t those goofballs the greatest things? Life… it is interesting with one of them.
Ugh. Gorgeous. You and Clark look amazingly in love.
Your pelvises are touching!
But then, I guess that’s happened before.
Yes, must get a cow…on my list of things to do now! : )
Love the pictures! *sigh* Now I guess I need to get in some pictures, too. *sigh* Now why did you have to go and pressure us into that, huh?
Oh honey…how much is a cow?
I love these so much. Yay for you and Clay. Yay for Mrs. Mama
)
Awesome, wonderful, priceless! You don’t know me, but what you shared was so hilarious and poignant at the same time. You are a talented woman.
Hmmm…just wondering about the posterior enhancing/reducing possibilities of a chicken…maybe this is the way my son will finally that calf he insists he wants
We (that group of gals that run around with your sista) keep telling her to get Mrs. Mama to our neck of the woods for some photos. We know we could easily keep her busy for an entire day. There’s at least 4 families that would love to do this.
Love the pics of you & Clay.
Oh, I love these photos of you and your husband. Great capture of your love for each other.
Mrs. Mama did a really good job! Good to have a friend who is photographer.
