A million kisses to the first person that knows what that thing is up there. The photo is a little blurry, but good enough for you to guess. And NO it is NOT a chicken.
I’m catering a luncheon today. I’m a caterer. Did you know that? Yeah, me neither. It’s for a lady horse-riders club, I sure hope they like it.
The Menu
Egg/Cheese/Bacon/Asparagus Casserole- I wish I had a better name for this
Cheesy Potatoes w/chives- Again, a better name would make it sound ‘nicer’
Spring Salad Greens w/ blackberry vinaigrette
Pumpkin, Cinnamon and Chocolate muffins
Okay, so it’s a brunch.

Make up something like Margaret’s famous egg/asparagus casserole Name them after someone or a restaurant and it sounds impressive even if you just made up the recipe.
Also that looks like a chicken to me. Can’t have them in my subdivision but I remember being pecked by the Banty hens when I was a child trying to gather eggs so probably wouldn’t anyway. How about that-a runon sentence.
Is it a turken?
You could call the potatoes “au gratin”. That sounds pretty fancy. Just make sure to use a fancy French accent when you say it!
A turken?? It looks like a chicken, but since you said it wasn’t….
Looks like a pheasant to me … and the menu sounds delicious!
Yum–That Brunch sounds delicious!
It’s a Turken! Good luck with the catering. Sounds good.
They will LOVE it!
I’d name it “(blank) breakfast casserole” and fill in the blank with the word asparagus, tasty or Coal Creek Farm or call it Coal Creek Farm asparagus breakfast casserole!
It looks like a pheasant to me too but I’m not sure.
What time will brunch be ready? I’m on my way!
Sounds great!!
Looks like a chicken, does it walk like a chicken?
It may not be a chicken, but I bet it tastes like chicken.
You have a turken? Seriously? wow…
Good luck with your luncheon/bruncheon!
Turkens don’t have feathers on their necks.
I have no idea…I would have said a chicken. Mmm the menu looks tasty. I like the sound of coal creek farm breakfast casserole, it sounds very “country home cooking-ish”.
I have a recipe for Southwest Sausage Casserole that is delish and oh so fab!
Please furnish recipes for you brunch, they sound so good!
That thing is a comb.
I do catering too donchaknow.
Tell me more about the casserole and I’ll make up a name. For one thing, if you want it fancy you don’t use the word “casserole”. You could say cassoulet but that may not fit either. What kind of cheese? Does it have bread?
Potatoes Gratin with spring chives
Spring Greens with Feta and Blackberry Vinaigrette
Is this the new job you got?
Have fun! I hope someone else is doing dishes!
Rooster?
A turken? Ugly thang!! : )
Is it a young turken? Cuz adult turkens have naked necks… or is it a ‘game bird’ – they have those too and them thar look like chitins tooo!! *snicker*
You could call it asparagus & bacon frittata. It’s like a quiche but without the pie crust. I make a delicious zucchini frittata.
I thought it was a chicken.
Lynn
My son said it is a bird. I think he might be right, because he is smarter than me.
A red Junglefowl hen? She’s cute.
It looks like a hybrid … maybe a Bengal? It’s pretty, whatever it is.
The kittens are adorable! What a lovely place to live.
Okay, is it a guinea?
And do you share recipes???
Happy Saturday!
Dinner!
An Americana? We have some about that size in our chicken yard. They are my favorite chicken so far.
My daughter says whatever it is, its “ugly”.
I’de say it’s a mutant type bird, partial to Kansas humans who raise pigs and fowl. Something in your water perhaps?
Hey, that looks like my youngest son who won’t leave the house unless his “faux hawk” hairdo is just perfect! Spittin’ image, I kid you not. I’ll try post a picture soon so you can compare
Have you ever catered East Indian style food? We’re looking for someone
I have a son who cooks Asian dishes and might be able to help you, depending on your location. Contact me at my blog, if you still need someone!
It’s an “Easter Egger” chicken. They are a cross between araucana and americana chickens. The breed lays colored eggs (seriously, look it up).
It’s a ChickEY!! More chicken than turkey, but a bit of both!!
It looks like my Mother in-law……she’s a real sticky beak!!
You must be another Brenda, because my MIL doesn’t look like that. *grins*
