Sometimes our chickens lay what we like to call Super Eggs.
They usually have a double yolk. One time I found one with a triple yolk.

That chicken is one big show off huh? I remember getting a dozen eggs a while back and every single one of them was a double yolker. I was making omelets … crackin’ the whole bunch and I would squeal with delight as one after another had 2 yolks. My family thought I was nuts.
It really doesn’t take much to thrill me.
I just need to say…. Fantastic!
Cool! Double yolks bring you good luck. Triple yolks triple your luck or you’re going to have triplets! I forget which! hehehe

Ah that brings back memories of my child hood growing up on a farm. I’ve seen a few “double-yolkers” and “triple-yolkers” and all I can think of when I see them is “ouch, poor chicken!”

What are you feeding her? Because you need to give some to the chicken who layed egg number 3 in the carton.
WOW! What an egg! I’m going to show it to the hens next door that I chicken sit for. We’ve had several double-yokers while taking care of them, but not a triple.
I liken double yolk eggs to giving birth to 10lb babies. Sometimes a girl just can’t help it! I should know!
I originated with Ree but I am so enjoying your site. My dear brave husband also climbed the tree for bees, made a bee box and all. He did not however, have a suit but tried bandana, double long sleeves and gloves – paintbrush too. Well, he was so darned proud of himself, that is until he realized how many times he had been stung. Benadryl and baking soda for him. We had the bees for a long time, then they decided it was time to move on. ALSO > > > we now know what to do about “pasty butt” next time it happens. Hmm, is it weird that I am willing to do this?

What a different life than I lead! I can’t imagine dealing with eggs, other than at the grocery store. It’s fun to read about though.
